Terms of service

These terms cover Letterslot, its website and any optional services operated by Pragmatic Builders Limited.

Using Letterslot

These terms form an agreement between you and Pragmatic Builders Limited (“we”, “us”). Use Letterslot only with accounts you own or are authorised to access. You must meet your email provider’s age requirements and have the capacity or required permission to enter this agreement. If you use it for an organisation, you must have authority to do so.

What the app does

Letterslot is a native email client. Your email provider continues to host your mailbox. The app connects to that provider to display, organise, search and send messages and carry out supported actions you choose. Availability varies by provider, build, operating system and permissions. Our development page distinguishes working development features from planned integrations.

Your mail and permissions

You retain your rights in your messages, attachments, signatures and other content. You grant only the permissions needed to process that content for the features you request, subject to our privacy policy. We do not acquire ownership of your mail. Provider terms continue to apply, and we are not endorsed by Apple, Google, Microsoft, Yahoo or Fastmail.

You are responsible for choosing the correct recipients, attachments and sending identity and for reviewing messages before sending. Sending, deleting, moving, filtering and automated expiry rules can have lasting effects. Keep appropriate backups. Removing Letterslot does not necessarily revoke provider access or remove files you exported.

Accounts and security

Keep your device, provider account and credentials secure. Authorise only the accounts and optional services you intend to use. Tell us about suspected service vulnerabilities through the support route, without posting credentials or private messages publicly. We may limit or suspend an optional service where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention or legal compliance.

Notifications and optional IDLE

Background downloads and alerts depend on your device, network, provider, Apple’s delivery rules and account permissions. Delivery time and an already-downloaded message cannot be guaranteed. Letterslot is not an emergency notification service.

The proposed optional IMAP IDLE service requires separate enablement and the credential handling described in the privacy policy. Its encrypted credential lease must be refreshed by your device and expires after 14 days without refresh. An expired or consumed lease can stop reconnection until your device supplies a fresh credential. This production service is not currently available.

AI assistance and filtering

On-device AI can suggest labels, classifications, explanations or search interpretations. Suggestions may be incomplete or incorrect. Review important messages and decisions. You remain in control of admitting senders. Screening and phishing indicators are aids, not guarantees that mail is safe or malicious.

Acceptable use

Do not use Letterslot to access someone else’s account without permission, send unlawful or abusive messages, distribute malware, evade provider restrictions, attack the service or interfere with other users. Do not attempt to retrieve another device’s notification credentials or routing records. These restrictions do not prevent lawful interoperability, accessibility work or good-faith security research permitted by law.

Development builds and changes

Development and beta builds may contain bugs, unfinished integrations or incompatible changes. We may change or withdraw development features. We will describe material service or privacy changes and obtain any new permission required. Do not rely on an unfinished feature for your only copy of important information.

We will provide any updates required by applicable law. A future paid release will state its price, billing period, cancellation, refund and renewal terms before purchase; these terms do not create a subscription or authorise a charge.

Software and third parties

Subject to these terms and any applicable App Store terms, you may use the app on devices you are entitled to use. Software rights remain with their owners; open-source components retain their applicable licences. Nothing here removes rights granted by those licences or by law. Provider services, linked websites and Apple services have their own terms and privacy practices.

Ending use

You can stop using Letterslot, disconnect accounts, revoke provider permissions and disable optional services. Any later paid plan will have its own disclosed cancellation process. We may suspend or end access to our hosted services for a material breach, giving reasonable notice and an opportunity to address it where practical, unless immediate action is necessary for security or law. This does not transfer your provider mailbox to us.

Responsibility and your legal rights

We will exercise reasonable care and skill as required by applicable law. We do not promise uninterrupted availability, perfect classification, universal provider compatibility or delivery of every notification. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability or consumer right that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Where the law permits, we are not responsible for losses caused by events outside our reasonable control, your provider’s failure, or unauthorised use resulting from your failure to protect your credentials. Any responsibility is assessed under applicable law; these terms do not impose an arbitrary damages cap or remove mandatory remedies for defective digital content.

Law, disputes and contact

The laws of England and Wales govern these terms, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections in their country of residence. Courts of England and Wales may hear disputes; consumers retain any right to bring proceedings in their local courts. Please contact us at oops@letterslot.app so we can try to resolve a problem.

Material changes apply prospectively after reasonable notice where required. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining terms continue to apply to the extent lawful.
